DistoX calibration tools and the need for calibration checking

For proper cave surveying using DistoX, the device needs to be calibrated with adequate accuracy. Calibrating does not require any tools; but, tools make calibration easier have been developed. Theoretical consideration shows that use of certain enables one introduce a type error goes undetected by software. In this study, existence such errors is experimentally confirmed and their magnitude estimated. It demonstrated crucial DistoX valid, is, has changed since it was last calibrated. No part must moved or its magnetization calibration, even battery.
